How Trigeneration Works:

In a Trigeneration plant, also known as CCHP for Combined Cooling, Heat and Power for primary source of energy is gas. The combustion of the gas happens in an engine and energy generated is used to generate electricity thanks to an alternator. In a standard installation the heat produced by the engine would be released into the atmosphere but in a Trigeneration plant the waste heat is recovered in all possible areas thanks to plate heat exchangers and exhaust gas heat exchangers. The heat is then used onsite for the heating of a building or other purposes and part of the heat is used in chillers to produce cooling for air conditioning or refrigeration.
