Used Biogas Generators

Gas Engine Exchange specialises in used biogas generators. We have more than two decades of experience working in the biogas industry across all countries in Europe. Gas Engine Exchange has expertise in sourcing good condition used biogas container sets with low operating hours. As well as containerised biogas gensets, we also have used biogas generating sets available. Each engine is borescoped, turned over and checked to make sure all the used generators we offer are in good condition and you get the best engine possible. If you have a biogas plant and would like some cheaper options for your CHP gas generator, please give us a call.

Used Biogas CHP

Gas Engine Exchange has a range of biogas CHPs (Combine Heat and Power Plants) for sale. Exhaust Gas Heat Exchangers and jacket water can be used for heat in the digestors or elsewhere on site. Using the heat produced by the engine can dramatically increase the efficiency of the generating station. In some countries, particularly in Europe, there may be subsidies for the use of CHPs. Combined Heat and Power is also known as cogeneration. We regularly collect all the components available in cogeneration plants so the complete plant can be re-installed at a new location.

What is biogas?

Biogas is a source of renewable energy. It contains a mixture of methane and CO2 (and smaller levels of other gases). It is produced when organic matter - in the form of waste such as animal slurry or crops - are allowed to anaerobically digest. This produces methane and carbon dioxide which is called biogas. This gas can be used in engines to generate electricity and heat. We offer well priced used generators for projects where saving on expensive new equipment makes sense!
